one of the most picturesque and alluring bays on the East coast of Lefkas (Lefkada), where fragrant, pine-clad slopes tumble down towards unspoiled bays washed by glittering waters.
For water lovers this is a perfect location. Finding villas with their own access to the sea are very rare, this "romantic hideaway", is the only one on the Island that I know of that has real direct beach front access.
No roads to cross, not lots of steps just direct access.
The villa has large, covered seaside terraces with sweeping, uninterrupted views
of the beautiful Ionian sea ..
The villa is right on the beach, with steps leading you down to the sea where there is a little beach and jetty suitable for sunbathing and swimming for all ages. It is impossible not to relax just sun bathing on the beach or snorkelling around the crystal clear edges of the bay. Beach umbrellas/sun loungers are provided for your convenience. The bay is also suitable for mooring boats. Having your own boat is a great bonus here, and they can be rented locally per day from Euro 40-We can arrange this before arrival.
It is easy to load up your small boat and potter around the coastline and to the other nearby islands for some snorkelling or to sunbathe in a quiet cove.
Other water sports such as sailing, water skiing and diving, these can be found close by.
Villa Dessimi is located at the head of the bay and surrounded by beautiful low lying Cypress tree covered Hills from three sides; you have seclusion, tranquility and breathtaking
views of the sea and nearby Island of Meganisi..

Villa Dessimi is positioned with everything needed on a Greek islands getaway at its door step.
Being positioned only metres back from the crystal clear waters of Dessimi Beach, it also has a Taverna next door that serves traditional Greek cuisine while you enjoy the beautiful view of the bay and neighbouring islands. Water sports, fishing, diving, wind surfing and paddle boats on the beach in front of the villa, what more could you ask for!
For dining out close by there is a good taverna serving fresh seafood on the beach near by.To the back of the house about 1 KM is the extremely well reviewed restaurant "Seaside" serving fine food (see www.seaside-lefkada.com) in a very luxurious atmosphere with great views. There are also many other tavernas on the Genni side ( peninsula behind house)
The nearest shops are in Geni which is only 1.5 km away.
The Village of Vlicho is only 5 min by car with many more excellent Fish Tavernas and restaurants.
The town of Nidri is only 10 min by car and has many more excellent restaurants and a wonderful
sea front promenade overlooking the Onasis Island of Scorpios.

Just 5 minutes drive, or 20 minutes easy walk the cosmopolitan town of Nidri lies in sharp contrast to the sleepy village of Vlicho. With a variety of shops, bars, tavernas and restaurants it is an ideal place to sit on the harbour front watching the world go by. From here one can take regular boat trips to neighbouring islands, often accompanied by inquisitive dolphins. The gently sloping beach provides safe bathing, even for the youngest, while the more adventurous can partake in the water sports on offer, including paragliding and the ?flying fish?. For those preferring more tranquil water sports, small motor boats, sailing dinghies and yachts may be hired. By night the pedestrian area comes alive and for the young at heart there are a number of unobtrusive clubs and discos. Those wanting to explore further can hire bicycles, scooters or cars.
